The 407 has two streams: Occupational Trainee (for individuals seeking registration, membership, licensing, or skill enhancement with minimum 12 months full-time experience) and Professional Development (classroom-based training aligned with the applicant’s occupation). Nomination by an approved Temporary Activity Sponsor is required; the sponsor cannot be a sole trader or individual.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Functional English proficiency required.
Must hold appropriate qualifications and/or experience for the nominated training.
Must be nominated by an approved Temporary Activity Sponsor (not a sole trader).
Must maintain appropriate health insurance throughout the visa.
Must genuinely intend a temporary stay in Australia.
