About Reliance Law Group

The People Behind Your Matter

Reliance Law Group is an Australian law firm based in North Sydney. We act for individuals, families and businesses in migration law and criminal law, and we are known for clear advice, careful preparation and genuine care for the people we represent.

What We Do

Two Practices, One Standard

Most firms are strong in one area and stretched in the others. We keep our focus deliberately narrow so that the advice you get is advice we give every day.

Migration Law

Employer sponsored visas, skilled migration, partner and family visas, permanent residency, citizenship, refusals, cancellations and Administrative Review Tribunal matters.

Criminal Law

Representation and advice in criminal and traffic matters in Local Courts and District Courts across New South Wales, including bail applications arranged at short notice.

About Us

Ali Sekandar Arif

Principal Lawyer and Director

Lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Ali Sekandar Arif is the Principal Lawyer and Director of Reliance Law Group, where he leads the firm’s migration practice. His work is built on strategic advocacy, careful preparation and representation that keeps the client’s circumstances at the centre.

He advises individuals, families, skilled professionals and businesses across all areas of Australian migration law, including employer sponsored visas, skilled migration, partner and family visas, permanent residency, citizenship, Administrative Review Tribunal matters, visa refusals and cancellations, character issues and Schedule 3 applications.

Ali believes no two migration matters are the same. Each calls for careful preparation, clear strategy and an approach shaped around the person, so the case put forward is strongest.

Having migrated to Australia from a developing country himself, Ali understands the sacrifice and uncertainty that migration involves, and the opportunities it can open up. That experience helps him connect with clients from a range of backgrounds.

He built Reliance Law Group on professionalism, integrity and transparency, where clients receive trusted guidance and steady support from the first consultation through to final decision on their matter.

About Us

Ahmad Nazari

Lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Ahmad Nazari is a Solicitor at Reliance Law Group with a broad legal background and a strong focus on criminal law, family law and court based advocacy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

He assists clients across a range of criminal matters, including criminal charges, bail applications, traffic offences and apprehended violence orders, along with family law matters such as parenting arrangements and other issues arising from separation.

Frequently Asked Questions

We listen to your situation, explain the process that applies to it and set out the options that are realistically open to you. You will leave knowing what the next step is and what it will cost. If we are not the right firm for your matter we will tell you that too.

We explain our fees clearly before you commit to anything. The structure depends on the type of matter, and we would rather have that conversation openly at the start than surprise you later.

Not necessarily. Migration matters in particular are handled by phone, video and email for clients all over Australia and offshore. For criminal matters an in person meeting is often useful, and our office is in North Sydney.

Yes, and that is one of the reasons the two practices sit under the one roof. A criminal matter can raise character issues under Australian migration law, and the two need to be considered together rather than in isolation.

Some matters, bail applications in particular, will not wait. Call the office and we will tell you honestly whether we can act in the time available.
