The 494 visa involves three stages: eligible sponsor status, nomination application, and visa application. After 3 years, holders may apply for the 191 permanent visa. Visa holders must work within their nominated occupation for the sponsoring employer.
Must be under 45 years old at the time of application.
Competent English proficiency required.
Positive skills assessment from an appropriate assessing authority.
Must have worked at least 3 years full-time equivalent in the occupation within the last 5 years.
Either market rate or $73,150 minimum, whichever is higher.
Standard requirements apply. Must hold appropriate health insurance and have no outstanding government debts.
